Chocolate Chocolate Cake
Serve this decadent dessert at any party or just treat your family to a special treat!
Please let this cake sit one day before you cut it!
To make this yummy chocolate cake, you will need the following ingredients:
CAKE
1 3/4 c all purpose flour
2 c sugar
3/4 c cocoa powder
2 tsp baking soda
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 eggs
1 c strong black coffee, cooled
1 c buttermilk
1/2 c vegetable oil
1 tsp real vanilla extract
CHOCOLATE FROSTING
1/2 c margarine, softened
2 oz melted unsweetened chocolate, cooled
3 c powdered sugar
3 Tbsp milk
2 tsp real vanilla extract
In a large mixing bowl or stand mixer, combine 1 3/4 cups flour,
2 cups sugar,
3/4 c cocoa powder,
2 tsp baking soda,
1 tsp baking powder,
1 tsp salt,
2 eggs,
1 cup buttermilk,
1/2 cup vegetable oil,
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
and 1 cup cooled coffee. Beat at medium speed for two minutes.
Batter will be thin
Pour batter into a greased and floured 9×13 pan or two 9 inch cake pans
Bake at 350 degrees for 35-40 minutes for a 9×13,
or 30-35 minutes for layer pans.
FOR THE FROSTING
In a blender, combine the 1/2 cup softened butter,
2 ounces melted chocolate,
3 cups powdered sugar,
2 teaspoons vanilla,
and 3 tablespoons milk.
Mix with blender.
Spread frosting on cooled cakes.
Wait ONE DAY before you cut into the cake. It needs time to rest and become moist.
