Strawberry Jello Pretzel Salad

Pretzel +Jello = HELLO!

Kinda part dessert, part side dish! Perfect with ham!



The first time I ever tried this was at my aunt Gayle’s. Grandma Smith is always coming up with fabulous treats, like her German chocolate cake made in the crock pot!

To make this Strawberry Jello Pretzel salad, you will need the following ingredients:


1 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
4 1/2 tablespoons white sugar
3/4 cup butter, melted
1 cup white sugar
2 (8 ounce) packages cream cheese
1 (8 ounce) container frozen whipped
topping, thawed
1 (6 ounce) package strawberry flavored
gelatin
2 cups boiling water
1 (16 ounce) package frozen
strawberries or 2 tubs frozen strawberries




Start by crushing up 1 1/2  pretzels.

Add 4 1/2 tablespoons sugar to the crushed pretzels.

Pour in 3/4 cups melted butter ,

and mix.

Spread evenly into a 9×13 baking dish. And bake in a pre heated 350 degree oven for 10 minutes or until lightly browned.

In a mixing bowl, combine 2 bricks softened cream cheese,

1 cup sugar

and beat until creamy and well combined.

Fold in 1 tub cool whip,

and spread on top of cooled pretzel mixture.
Refrigerate until set, about 30 minutes

In another bowl, combine 6 oz box of strawberry Jello,

2 cups boiling water.


add frozen strawberries,

and pour over set cream cheese mixture.
Refrigerate for at LEAST and hour – overnight.
