Why buy expensive granola bars with preservatives when you can easily make your own? These Honey Oat Granola bars are delicious and convenient! Put them in you kids lunch or take them to a baseball game to share!
To make these delicious and good for you granola bars, you will need the following ingredients:
2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup ground flax meal
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup raisins
1/3 cup chopped almonds
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup honey
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract

| In a large bowl, combine 2 cups rolled oats, |

| 3/4 cup packed brown sugar, |
 |
| 1/2 cup ground flax meal, |

| 3/4 teaspoon cinnamon, |
 |
| 1 cup flour, |
 |
| 1/2 cup raisins, |
 |
| 1/3 cup chopped almonds, |
 |
| 3/4 teaspoon salt. |
 |
| Stir to combine. |
 |
| Create a well in the dry mixture and add 1/2 cup honey, |
 |
| 1 egg lightly beaten, |
 |
| 1/2 cup veg oil, |
 |
| and 2 teaspoons vanilla extract. |
 |
| Use (both) hands to mix ingredients into a sticky dough. |
 |
| In a 9×13 Pyrex that I sprayed liberally with Pam, push the mixture into the preparred Pyrex. You will notice it is very sticky. Once you get it almost all the way spread, start spanking the mixture. YES! spank it good!! You will see how nicely it fills in the gaps. |

Place the pan into a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until golden on the edges.
Let cool for about 5 minutes the cut into bars or squares. (Make sure you cut these when they are warm, when they harden it will be too late)
